HOW DARE YOU MESS WITH OUR ANTHEM

Editor:
A National Anthem is to be respected and revered, close to being sacred.
How dare “Nikki” (Yanofsky) sing, the orchestra provide the music and the Vancouver Olympic dignitaries allow the anthem to be obliterated and then dress it up in frills to the point of being unrecognizable.
It’s not a folk song to be gussied up.
We are proud Canadians, so don’t mess with our anthem.
Let us never hear it again.

One Response to “HOW DARE YOU MESS WITH OUR ANTHEM”

  1. Terry Crossie says:

Exactly, we as a country allow our politicians to destroy our identity, first allowing our national sport hockey to be exported to our neighbours to the south,,then the introduction of turbins in the RCMP
( do you think the Indian police force would allow say a native american to ware his head dress on their force) not a chance and rightfully so, they have standards which all other countries up hold , but not Canada, we welcome terrorists, criminals, we water down canadain identity, and now one more time with our anthem, Being a born and bred canadain these days is to be a secondary citizen in our own country…. Maybe we should just eliminate the boarder and become americans, they seem to be more patriatic than this country. we may learn some thing about standing up for our canadian values,,,,
