LOCAL RESIDENT THANKS OIB AND CHIEF LOUIE FOR WITHDRAWING ITS HALFWAY HOUSE APPLICATION

Posted on 15 August 2012 by admin

Dear Editor:

This letter is written to the honourable Chief Clarence Louie and the Osoyoos Indian Band council members.
I believe it is right and proper for your neighbouring community here in Osoyoos to express our gratitude to you for your decision to withdraw the halfway house proposal.
A big fear that a tragedy may happen has been lifted from our minds, especially by those who live in the immediate vicinity to the proposed halfway house.
This is proof that a successful leader listens before he commands.
On behalf of concerned citizens, I wish to thank you very much.
This proposal was causing a great deal of concern for many residents in this community and I would like to commend you for reconsidering your original position and withdrawing the zoning application to open the halfway house.

John Zupan
Osoyoos, B.C.
