Youth Killed In Tragic Crash

ocal girl has been killed in a tragic car accident.
Although RCMP weren't officially releasing the name of the young girl on Monday, the Osoyoos Times has learned that Crystal Lutz, 20, was killed in a single vehicle accident early Saturday morning.
The well-known Osoyoos girl, who graduated from Osoyoos Secondary School in 2003, was pronounced dead at the scene of the accident.
The South Okanagan Traffic Services and the South Okanagan Detachment ares still investigating the accident that took place at approximately 5 a.m. Saturday, July 23 on Highway 97, just north of Osoyoos at Dead Man's Lake.
A 1993 Toyota pick-up truck was north bound on Highway 97 when it failed to negotiate a left hand curve on the highway.
The vehicle struck the cement retaining wall before skidding off the highway and overturning. The vehicle came to rest, right-side-up just on the edge of the small lake.
The vehicle was being driven by a 20-year-old male with three female passengers.
All other passengers were transported to the South Okanagan Regional Hospital with non life threatening injuries.
In a press release, police said speed and alcohol are suspected as contributing factors in the collision.
