Thanks to a heroic effort by captain Garrett Kucher, the Osoyoos Coyotes are only one win away from winning their first-round playoff series against the Princeton Posse.

Kucher scored all four goals, including the overtime winner, in a thrilling comeback effort against the Posse Monday night at the Sun Bowl Arena.

The Coyotes now lead the best-of-seven series 3-1 and can wrap up the series with another victory in game five in Princeton Thursday night.

If Princeton manages to stay alive in that contest, the Coyotes will have the opportunity to win the series back on home ice Friday night.

If a seventh-and-deciding game is needed, it would be played Saturday night in Princeton.

In Monday’s sensational game, played before a loud crowd of just under 300 fans, Kucher opened the scoring on the power-play four minutes into the game, with assists from Beau Browning and Jordan Taylor.

Princeton scored two goals, including a shorthanded marker with less than a minute to play, in the second period to grab a 2-1 lead after 40 minutes of play.

It looked dire for the Coyotes when Princeton scored three minutes into the third period to extend the lead to 3-1.

However, Kucher scored another power-play with 10 minutes remaining to narrow the gap to 3-2. Jordon and Liam Neary assisted on that marker.

Kucher sent the crowd into a frenzy with his third goal and power-play marker with less than five minutes remaining in regulation time. Jordan and Brandon Watson provided the helpers.

It seemed fitting that Kucher would score the winner as he did with only six seconds remaining in the first overtime period.

The Coyotes fired 53 shots at Posse netminder Jack Burgart, while Jessie Gordichuk stopped 43 of 46 shots he faced.
